The largest published figures are 750 theatre-style and 418 banquet at Grand Hotel Millennium Sofia. Eight hotels publish a banquet figure of 250 or more.
These hotels suit couples planning a mid-sized or large wedding with guests staying on site. Sofia works for a city weekend, while the coast and mountains suit a wedding that doubles as a holiday. What to check before booking
Before you sign, put these five questions to each hotel on your shortlist.
- Capacity by layout. Ask for the seated dinner figure with your dance floor, band and top table in place. A theatre figure can be double the dinner figure.
- Exclusivity. Ask whether other events can run in the hotel on your day, and whether your hall or garden is yours alone.
- Outdoor backup plan. For an outdoor ceremony, confirm which indoor room you move to in bad weather and that it seats every guest.
- Catering minimums and extra charges. Get any minimum guest numbers, minimum spend, corkage and late-finish charges in writing.
- Room block. Ask how many guest rooms the hotel will hold, at what rate, and until when.

Up to a few hundred at the largest venues. In our data, the eight biggest banquet figures run from 250 to 418 guests, and theatre layouts reach 750. Another 17 hotels publish no hall or capacity figure, so ask for the seated dinner capacity in your layout.
Do hotels in Bulgaria publish wedding package prices?
Rarely. Seven of the hotels we track publish wedding packages or a wedding offer, and only a handful publish any charges, such as menus, deposits or corkage. We do not list prices, so ask each hotel for a written quote.
Can you hold the ceremony outdoors at a hotel in Bulgaria?
Yes, at many of them. Nineteen of the hotels we track list outdoor spaces, including gardens, terraces, courtyards, a rooftop and a beach, and several name them for ceremonies. Ask which indoor room you move to if the weather turns.
How far ahead should you book a wedding venue in Bulgaria?
As soon as you have a date and a rough guest count. None of the hotels we track publishes a booking lead time, so ask each one how far ahead it confirms weddings and what secures the date. Coastal hotels in summer and mountain hotels in winter also fill with holidaymakers.
